How to Process & Ship Orders
Step-by-step guide to confirming orders, selecting a courier, and generating shipping labels via Shiprocket.
Once a customer places an order, the clock starts. Shipping quickly builds trust and earns great reviews. Here's the complete workflow from receiving an order to handing it to the courier.
When a New Order Arrives
You'll receive:
- A WhatsApp notification on your registered number.
- An email notification with the full order details.
- The order appears in Dashboard → Orders with status "Pending".
Reviewing the Order
- 1Open Dashboard → Orders and click the order.
- 2Verify the product, quantity, buyer name, and delivery address.
- 3For COD orders — confirm the order only after verifying the address is serviceable.
- 4For prepaid orders — payment has already been captured. You can ship immediately.
Packing the Product
Good packing prevents damage, returns, and weight-discrepancy charges. The ship screen also has a quick "How to pack this order" checklist you can expand while packing.
- Use a sturdy box or courier bag that fits the item snugly — avoid oversized boxes (they cost more on volumetric weight).
- Wrap fragile items in bubble wrap and cushion empty space with paper so nothing shifts in transit.
- Seal all edges with strong tape — use the H-taping method across the box flaps.
- Keep the invoice inside the parcel and stick the shipping label flat on the largest face; never tape over the barcode.
- Include a handwritten thank-you note or brand card if possible — it makes a lasting impression.
- Weigh and measure the FULLY PACKED box. Enter weight as kilograms + grams, and length/breadth/height in cm or inches (toggle to match your tape).
- Do not seal the box for a COD order until the courier agent verifies contents, if asked.
Shipping the Order via Shiprocket
- 1Open the order in your dashboard.
- 2Click "Ship Order".
- 3Enter the packed weight in the kg and gram boxes (e.g. 0 kg + 500 g for a half-kilo parcel).
- 4Enter the box dimensions. Use the cm/inch toggle to match your measuring tape — inches are auto-converted to centimetres for the courier.
- 5Optionally save these as a reusable preset if you ship similar parcels often.
- 6Click "Check Courier Rates" to fetch live prices for your buyer's pincode.
- 7Compare courier options — look at price, estimated delivery days, and reliability rating.
- 8Select your preferred courier and click "Ship with [courier]".
- 9Your AWB (Air Waybill / tracking number) is generated and the shipping label is ready.
- 10Click "Print Label" to open the label PDF, then attach it securely to the package.
- 11Hand the package to the courier agent during pickup (usually within 24 hours of booking).
Enter the packed box weight as accurately as you can. If the courier weighs it and finds a difference, the extra charge is adjusted in your payout. For multiple orders going out together, use "Bulk Ship" to set one weight/size and courier for all of them at once.
The tracking link in your buyer's email points to their order page (destin.bio/track/[order-id]), which always works — even in the first few hours before the courier scans the parcel. Tracking details fill in once the courier picks it up.
After Shipping
Once you confirm shipment:
- The order status updates to "Shipped" automatically.
- Your buyer receives an email and WhatsApp with the tracking number.
- They can track the shipment live at destin.bio/track/[order-id].
- The order status will update to "Delivered" once the courier confirms delivery.
