What You Can and Can't List
How listing checks work, what gets flagged, and what to do if your product is held.
Every listing is checked automatically when you save it. The vast majority publish instantly with no interruption - the checks exist to keep a handful of genuinely illegal items off the platform, not to get in your way.
Three possible outcomes
| Outcome | What it means | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Published | Everything fine. The overwhelming majority of listings. | Nothing |
| Published, under review | Something needs a human glance. Your product is LIVE and selling. | Nothing - we only contact you if something must change |
| Not published | The listing appears to reference something illegal to sell in India. | Edit the title or description and save again |
What is never allowed
- E-cigarettes and vapes (banned in India since 2019)
- Counterfeit or "first copy" branded goods
- Narcotics, firearms and ammunition
- Wildlife products - ivory, skins, animal parts
- Prescription medicines without a pharmacy licence
What gets a quick review
Health claims ("cures diabetes"), skin-whitening claims, supplements and ayurvedic products are reviewed because Indian law regulates how they can be described - not because they are banned. Your product stays live throughout.
Avoid claiming a product cures or treats a disease. The Drugs & Magic Remedies Act makes that a criminal offence, even for genuinely herbal products. Describe what it contains and how it is used instead.
If your listing is held by mistake
It happens - a word can look wrong out of context. Contact support and we will review it the same day. If our check was too aggressive, we fix the rule for everyone, not just your listing.
